Well hello and thanks for joining me (I’m not always this serious looking!)
So let’s get started with the backstory; I am a British……sorry let’s stop there; more specifically I am a Welsh interior designer and being a country bumpkin I got fed up of the small-town opportunities and decided I wanted more for my career. In January 2010 I moved to Dubai with my husband to embark on a new adventure and the next step in my design career. Nearly 10 years later and I now proudly manage an interior design studio for a well-established award-winning architecture firm.
Now 10 years in Dubai terms makes me what they call a “lifer” and before you ask; yes, it is very hot and yes brunches are a real thing that we brits take very seriously!……very!
I have always had an interest in design and my passion for interiors started a young age, when I would save my money from my paper round to go to the local boutique décor store. I would eagerly pick out the latest in must have home accessories or go to the textile market to buy fabric. I must have been the only 13 year old with handmade custom cushions and curtains!
I currently work in hospitality design and started this blog to be able to continue my passion with residential interiors and styling. This blog will feature trends, transformations and the world of interiors captured with my travel diaries. My aim is to share regional and international interiors through the eyes of a curious designer to bring you a variety of content for all things interiors.
I love to travel and will share my sightseeing diaries with my tips and recommendations, along with everything that catches my eye along the way.
I share a whole lot more on my Instagram account with daily posts on my life as a designer, my ever changing home and the world of interiors.
I would describe my design ethos as functional and stylish. I like design to have a purpose and at the same time reflect personal style, and most importantly to have fun along the way. I believe that a space should tell a story; your story. My own design style is eclectic; I enjoying mixing styles, playing with colour and texture and telling my own story with home décor I have collected from my travels.
So let’s get started; how hard can this blog malarkey be right …………….
