This one is taking me back, this was something I completed about 7 years ago for a lovely young family in Dubai living in the gorgeous area of Al Barari; which is a tropical oasis and so lush and green for living in the desert! It was November and so the pressure was on to transform the dining space ready for the families to arrive to celebrate Christmas.
They already had an informal family breakfast room, so this space was for occasions and entertaining friends. The brief was simple; sophisticated, formal and elegant. I managed to source this 16 seater mirror glass dining table, which I can tell you was not a fun time getting in; that would have been a whole 10 years load of bad luck in one go if that baby broke! Luckily it went smoothly and the reflective glass really helped lighten up the room, as you can see from my dodgy “before” photo the space was quite dull before with dark wood tones.
The materials in this space really gave that luxury feel, with the high back dining chairs upholstered in black velvet and the satin plum custom made curtains all set against the dark wood floor.
Probably the most striking element in the room is the 3 tier chandelier with crystal droplets, which creates a gorgeous reflection in the mirror table.
We styled and set the table ready for the perfect Christmas dinner…..all that was left was for the family to arrive!….oh and cook the dinner!
